This seems to be becoming a pattern again. I think I need to go back on the happy pills. I will post more later. Comment! (1) | Recommend! Hanging out at Denny's and a question for everyone Wednesday. 1.9.08 5:26 pm Stealing the internet connection from the hotel next door. :) Not that I don't have DSL at home or anything but hey sometimes you just need to get away. Plus you have to eat something before you go grocery shopping. Oh and in case you are wondering I got the Grand Slam. So lately I have been very into Disaster Planning. What do I do if terrorist bomb my city, what if all the power goes out in one of these crazy storms we've been having, what if, what if, what if. On top of my own crazy ass mind, I saw I AM LEGEND. If you haven't seen it... GO SEE IT NOW. Great movie! Then some laid off writer in California starts writing a blog called zombie workout and then I found the Zombie Squad which is based in St. Louis (that is were I live in case you didn't know...). So all of this got me thinking even more. So I decided to run with my crazy idea which started out as zombies but then spread to all types of warfare, power outages, terrorist attacks, etc. I am now thinking that since this other site is all about her being prepared for disasters maybe I too should keep track of my efforts. I thought about starting a new blog separate from my personal blog. I would like to use a paying blog site so that I can fund the supplies I will need for this adventure. While searching for paying weblog sites I smacked myself on the head for not thinking of the one site that has loved me for over a year. I guess I just don't think of this as paying weblog site. Eh... so I came over and low and behold... I have $7 and some change. Thanks everyone for that! So what do you all think about my blog about becoming ready for a disaster. Would you read it if I posted? Do you think you would enjoy it? Anybody wanna join in on the fun? Let me know... Comment! (1) | Recommend! Merry Christmas... Thursday. 12.27.07 5:17 pm I've been gone for awhile. I am sorry. I have been busy with school. It seems that some of the names have changed around here. How is everyone? Comment! (2) | Recommend! This blog is rated Sunday. 11.18.07 12:52 am Well hello there. How have you been? Friday. 8.24.07 1:29 am Well folks. How have you been? It's been a while. Things have been crazy but they have been a good kind of crazy. Shall we dive into the craziness that has been the past 2 months since my last post? I promise to be as brief as possible. So I am currently an unemployed, attached, somewhat wealthy, full time nursing student who is in love with life. Let's start with the first one... Unemployed I quit my job with the Boy Scouts and actually I am not unemployed anymore. I start a new job tomorrow. But wow what a change! I haven't had to get dressed up and make that long rush hour drive everyday and then sit behind a desk and type and answer phone calls. I am officially free of my office job and no offense to my former coworkers, cause I loved 90% of them, but good god am I glad about that! My new job is the six to midnight shift at a secruity company. If someones house alarm goes off it is my job to call and ask for a secruity code and make sure everything is ok. If not... I get to call the police! Attached In case you were looking, no I didn't finish that list, but have you ever had an opportunity knock that you knew was to great to pass up? Enter Neil. Neil and I worked together for the Scouts. He called me up one day while I was at the office (he works at one of the camps) and asked me out. I was so shocked I just said yes. I haven't been asked out on a date in the proper fashion ever so it was like well if he at least knows the proper way to ask me out I should give him a chance. We hit it off. We enjoy so many of the same things and he fully supports me in my decision to go back to school and tells me often that he thinks I will make a great nurse and how proud of me he is. He makes me laugh and come on when you can find another person who likes Cannibal the musical, mountain biking, and shares the same religous beliefs and values as you then well....he is just a great fit. We spend time together when I am not busy with school and I have even cooked for him a couple times. I met his parents this Sunday and they are great too. Things just seem to be working just right. Plus he isn't looking for anything extremely serious so I think it is a great thing for me right now. He definitely motivates me in so many ways and he even seems to get my strange sense of humor and my obscure little jokes. Some What Wealthy That countdown to earn $30,000 well I may not have made it by the exact deadline but I got my $30,000. I applied for a student loan and got all $30,000 so I am going to continue to work part time just to have something to look forward to in my day besides school. So maybe I can keep my sanity. Full Time Student I am nearing the end of my first week of school and I LOVE IT! I have no doubt in my mind now that I do want to be a nurse. I have enjoyed this week so much and I have learned so much in such a short amount of time. I am really excited about everything else that I will be learning soon and I start my clinicals in 2 weeks. I got the hospital I wanted so it is even cooler! But I will end this now because I have an 8 AM class so I need to get to sleep! I will try to keep up with updating more as things go along. Tomorrow I will try to fill you in about the interesting event that happened to me today... I ran into my ex-fiance... Until tomorrow, Good Night.... Comment! (1) | Recommend! I passed!!!! Tuesday. 6.19.07 10:05 pm I passed the test with a 96% and much celebrating and drinking was done! I am in and I registered for classes today! Yippee! I will post more later. Comment! (2) | Recommend! Dosage Calculations Test Friday. 6.8.07 1:02 am Ok so I called and made an appointment to take the Dosage Calculations Test today. I am taking the test on Thursday at 2:30 pm. I will find out about a week or two after the test if I pass then that is it I am in as far as the school is concerned! I am taking a class to help me learn the different formulas, since I didn't pass the test the last time I took it. I hadn't even studied for the last attempt and I got an 80% (you need a 90% so you can only miss 2 questions). I took the practice test and left out the questions about the topics we hadn't covered (reconstitution of solutions) and I got every question right. The reconstitutions will be covered in Tuesdays class so hopefully I will be able to ace this test! Comment! (3) | Recommend! School Tuesday. 6.5.07 9:55 pm I just wanted to let everyone know.... I start Nursing school this fall instead of spring like I thought! It is very exciting. I still have to get some things in order before the fall semester starts but I am very excited. Priority number one is finding a job that I can work full time and still go to school with. I am applying at the local hospitals for a job as a NA or PCA. I talked to a girl that I have a class with about it and she was making $14/hr at one of the local hosptials as a PCA. So everyone say a prayer for me! I will keep you all informed as I find out more information! Comment! (2) | Recommend! |
